Toshiba launches two new intelligent A4 multifunctions

Toshiba have joined the ranks of copier manufacturers offering a powerful range of A4 copiers designed to fulfill the same roles as an A3 machine but with a smaller footprint. We call these machines A4i. They look like their A3 stablemates, users can swap from one device to another with ease, and they can host the same solutions as well. These new Toshiba A4i machines will fit into the same workflow patterns as their bigger sisters and brothers.

It's worth stating that these new machines are manufactured by Toshiba. All Toshiba A3 machines' print engines are manufactured by the brand, so these had to be too. The last couple of generations of A4 machines badged Toshiba have hosted Lexmark print engines.

The e‑STUDIO330AC/400AC series of A4 (Letter) machines have the same 10-inch screen as their A3 stablemates, and these control panels run Elevate too, so they look and feel the same. Big screens are important for an A4i machine which has to allow on-screen indexing and other solution functions. Like the brand's A3 machines, they have 4GB of RAM and 320GB hard disks. A dual-head scanner means originals can be scanned at up to 120 ipm.

The new machines run e-BRIDGE CloudConnect, Toshiba’s cloud platform for remote monitoring, diagnostics and firmware updates to e-STUDIO devices. CloudConnect also manages system security policies. Toshiba multifunction's security include BIOS protection, digitally signed firmware and self-encrypting hard drives.

“Our latest e-STUDIO systems represent a significant step forward for Toshiba,” said Toshiba America Business Solutions Vice President of Marketing Bill Melo. “The systems combine the latest security, cloud and eco elements in an A4 footprint with the performance of a full-sized MFP to complete the day-to-day document workflow for virtually any organization.”
