Best Print Productivity, A3 MFPs:

In today’s working environment, high productivity is essential. Printer manufacturers specify print speeds for their machines, and DataMaster’s independent test lab identifies what stops them from performing as fast as they should.

Ricoh has striven for years to deliver machines, print controllers and firmware which can satisfy the requirements of their evolving, increasingly demanding users. The suite of DataMaster lab tests reveals that Ricoh have vanquished all productivity flaws, a testament to Ricoh’s expertise in the office market.
  • They print faster onto both sides of the sheet than onto one, even printing onto A3.

  • Simultaneity and multi-tasking: the Ricoh IM-C series can RIP, print and scan at full speed all at the same time. In our “busy office” tests, they received 15 print jobs simultaneously and ran them all without RIP pauses, at their stated print speeds. Few competing devices can do this. The MFP does not slow down when its work group is busy.
    Furthermore, a walk-up user can run a complex scan job while the printer is running with no impact on the productivity of either task.
     
  • They change paper source seamlessly, with no halt in printing. This is not just because the Ricoh induction fuser unit can change temperature faster than competing devices’ fusers. It is because the print engine, print controller and paper path are so well designed.
     
  • They have features to avoid blocked print queues.

“Our independent test lab is set up to reveal productivity problems,” said Edward Bilson, Technical Director of DataMaster. “Many competing machines have addressed most of these weaknesses, but the only range that has ever achieved 100% success in our demanding productivity evaluations is the Ricoh IM-C series.”
