The scan function on an office copier is at least as important as its print engine. The winners of this award process and deliver excellent scan quality fast, with an optimal file-size/image-quality ratio.

They have rich features, are easy to use and they run quietly.

The Winners of this Award are the Epson WorkForce Enterprise AM-C400 and AM-C550.

The scan functions of the Epson WorkForce Enterprise AM-C400 and AM-C550 series of colour A4 multifunction printers perform exceptionally well, compared to their competitors in the market. These colour A4 MFPs are compatible with Epson’s scan management software, Document Capture Pro, which delivers all the features of a professional scanner right to the interface of the MFP. No other MFP manufacturer provides such a rich set of scan features. Coupled with Document Capture Pro, an Epson WorkForce Enterprise MFP has most of the scan features of a professional mailroom scanner, including job separation, OCR to MS.Office formats, indexing, and barcode support.

“Epson are not the only printer manufacturer that also makes scanners, but only Epson makes their MFPs work with their professional scanner software, and the result is an exceptionally versatile MFP,” said Edward Bilson, Technical Director of DataMaster.

Scan productivity and image quality are both excellent. Scan jobs run from the interface are processed very fast. These machines start to process scan output as soon as the first image is produced, giving them a head start over most of the competition. Overall productivity is very good. High compression, or compact pdf output only takes a few seconds, even for large sets of originals. Even more importantly, highly compressed pdf files from these MFPs are of high quality, and small. Fine coloured lines and crucially, signatures are still clear in compact PDF.
