Ricoh launches replacements for MP C6501SP and MP C7501SP in Japan

Named the Ricoh MP C6502SP and MP C8002SP, these two multifunctions run at the same speed in monochrome as in color, that's 65 and 80 pages of A4 per minute, respectively.  The MP C8002 is breaking new ground here - that's a speed record for a departmental machine: 80 ppm in color was hitherto the exclusive domain of the production machine.
Able to print, copy and scan, the MP C6502SP and MP C8002SP can also host a fax card as an option.  These two machines use the PxP-EQ polymerized toner and also employ the "VCSEL" laser beam technology Ricoh first used on the C651/C751 series.  This should guarantee improved image quality over the previous generation.
Another new feature that the manufacturer is highlighting is the fact that toner cartridges may be replaced while the machine is running.  This is almost a defining feature of the "departmental" segment, and we are pleased to see a fast Ricoh copier now fully conforming to our definition.  It is a feature that will be appreciated both by repro departments and workgroups alike.
