Sharp Announce New Ranges of A3 MFPs

27 July 2022

Sharp are launching six new machines in the coming weeks, with another ten to follow.  The "all-new BP Advanced and Essentials Multifunctional Printer Series" are a new generation of Sharp office copiers, color and monochrome, with a range of finishing options - including the internal Z-fold unit which is becoming so popular.

Sharp are only publishing the specifications for the first six machines, the BP70C31, BP70C36, BP70C45, BP50C26, BP50C31 and BP50C36.  These are color machines, hence the "C".  The last digits are the A4 print speed, and the first two define the range.  The "70 series" have the 300-sheet 280 ipm feeder / duplex scanner, and other higher specifications.  The "50 series" have an 80 ipm auto-reversing feeder, and the "55 series'" feeder can run at up to 120 ipm single-sided (one presumes 240 ipm duplex).   They can all have the inner finisher which can z-fold; they can all print onto 300 gsm stocks; and they all have the 10.1 inch interface.

They would appear to be the replacements for the MX ranges ending respectively 51, 61 and 71.  They look similar - but those white textured panels are now greay.

The inner folding unit offers tri- and z-fold among other finishes, and is a boon (particularly, but not exclusively) for marketing operations without adding to the machine footprint.

The previous generations had some remarkable productivity features, and lab results to match.  We hope to let you know about the new machines test results shortly!  All the new machines are on DataMaster Online - and subscribers to our sales-enablement service can compare and smart-compare some of the new Sharp BP copiers already!
