Process Director is more than just a complete printroom management suite. With the addition of webstore job submission, and the fact that it can now handle email workflows from end-customer content too, Process Director allows print providers to become full marketing service providers.

It can handle job submission, manage print queues, perform pre-flight with full Adobe integration, and handles customer notification of progress from start to finish.

It provides a drag-and-drop graphical workflow management tool. This can integrate additional third-party apps like PitStop or an email app.

Documents managed within Process Director have substrate and finishing requirements defined within the software. This makes it easier to distribute jobs to a range of printing equipment from different brands (although IPDS-compatible ones will be easiest). This also allows jobs, documents and other forms of input and output to be archived from Process Director - and retrieved more easily at a later date if required.

Alternative forms of output for customer content that Process Director can handle include
emails - with support for spam filter immunity
web content - as it supports FTP
Process Director is designed to work with Ricoh's Automated Document Factory for these tasks.
