New series of four MFPs from Kyocera

16 December 2016

Last September, Kyocera launched their new range of TASKalfa office multifunction printers.  The manufacturer also ended 2016 very well by presenting its latest color and monochrome departmental machines, the TASKalfa 8052ci, 7052ci, 8002i and 7002i. These machines replace the TASKalfa 7551ci, 6551ci, 8001i and 6501i, respectively.

The MFP 8052ci can print at 80 ppm in black and white onto A4/letter and at 40 ppm onto A3/ledger, and 70/35 ppm in color onto A4/A3.  The MFP 7052ci can print at 70/35 ppm in black and white onto A4/A3 and at 65/35 in color onto A4/A3.  The 8002i and 7002i print at 80 and 70 ppm respecively onto A4, and similarly, half these speeds onto A3.
These machines feature the latest Kyocera toner and amorphous silicon drums (as opposed to the organic photoconductive drums that their competitors use).

The manufacturer is highlighting that this technology should allow these machines to deliver high quality color printing at up to 1200 x 1200 dpi. These multifunction printers have a maximum capacity of 7,650 sheets and a dual head scanner achieving up to 220 ipm.  Finally, a Fiery controller is available as an option on the 8052ci and 7052ci MFPs.

"Our customers are demanding mobile printing and scanning capabilities, and that certainly includes smaller workgroups," said Jim Fuller, Product Marketing Manager at Kyocera Document Solutions America.  Mobile printing and other new trends in mobile devices are supported. NFC technology for Android is available, as well as AirPrint compatibility, Google Cloud Print, Mopria, Kyocera Mobile Print and many other applications developed by the manufacturer.

In addition, this new TASKalfa range features a toner lock so toner cartridges cannot be changed until they are fully emptied.  Once empty, the black toner cartridge becomes a recycling bin for user toners, thus limiting the generation of waste.

Finally, with Kyocera Fleet Services, it is possible to plan toner cartridge deliveries, without the user having to call a service provider - and to schedule proactive maintenance.

The TASKalfa office range is already available on Your DMO portal. The departmental range will soon be available.
