Sharp launch TEN new color copiers

16 000 2015

Earlier this month, Sharp USA announced the launch of ten new color A3 multifunction printers in two distinct ranges: the MX-3070N, MX-3570N, MX-4070N, MX-5070N and MX-6070N Advanced Series, and the MX-3050N, MX-3550n, MX-4050N, MX-5050N and MX-6050N Essential Series. The first two digits define the speed: they have a print speeds of 30, 35, 40, 50 and 60 pages per minute respectively.

They will replace the previous models, the MX-3640N, MX-4140N and the MX-5140N as well as the  MX-4141N and the MX-5141N - which all date from 2013.

As with the previous ranges, the only difference is in the document feeder.  The Advanced Series (xx70) has a dual head scanner, like the xx41s did.
But the new ranges are broader, and they do all have the same print engine, which will make technical support and component stock control much, much easier.
The Advanced Series' scanner can run at up to 200 images per minute.  The Essential Series' auto-reversing scanner is slower.  However, all these new machines have the latest Sharp touch-screen interface - and they all run the latest Sharp development platform, OSA.

The MX-3070N, MX-3570N and MX-4070N Advanced Series are already available in the United States. The MX-3050N, MX-4050N MX-3550n Essentials Series will be on the market in the first quarter of 2016. As for the MX-5070N, MX-6070N, MX 5050N and the MX-6050N, these will follow in the second quarter of 2016.
These launches come at a difficult time for Sharp, with ongoing financial questions over their future.  At the launch, Sharp were keen to point out that their revenues are up 5% in North America, and profit up by 145% - and clearly, they are not shirking from investment in research and development (unlike some).

More information will soon be available on Your DMO.
