ECi obtains patent for technology used by FMAudit fleet management tool

ECi Software Solutions is a company operating in the market for independent fleet management solutions.  Its product FMAudit claims to monitor more than 5 million printing devices worldwide. 
ECi announced November 20 that they have obtained a patent granted by the US Patent and Trademark Office for a technology incorporated in the FMAudit suite of products enabling end users to click a link or run an application from a USB key to aggregate data such as counters and ink and toner levels that are collected from the printers and multifunctions either connected locally or on a network.

FMaudit includes a set of modules that help dealers and manufacturers to provide managed print services (MPS) by fetching and collating counter data, managing alerts and monistoring consumables levels.
