Canon launch two new color digital presses

Placed on the market on  May 19, Canon's imagePRESS C700 and imagePRESS C800 range of color presses is aimed at printers and repro departments.  The range comprises two models: the imagePRESS C700 and the magePRESS C800 which run at 70 and 80 ppm repectively.

These production machines are positioned between then imageRUNNER ADVANCE C9000 series and the imagePRESS C6011(S), and include technologies developed for the imagePRESS C7011VP(S).

The Canon imagePRESS C700 and imagePRESS C800 are compatible with a wide range of media, including coated stocks, strauctured media and envelopes.

These presses have a number of new technologies which enhance their productivity and their print quality.  Canon's low-temperature "Consistently Vivid" toner can provide high print quality and high productivity.   The new registration module guarantees high-presicion duplex printing for any paper weights or paper types.  And furthermore, the VCSEL Laser technology (32-beam Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser) provides print resolution at 2400x2400 dpi.  Calibration is improved using the new Auto Correct Colour Tone tool, and the Auto Gradation Adjustment tool has been upgraded.  These color digital presses have been equipped with a new intermediate transfer belt to improve printing onto thick and structured stocks.  The new paper trays have a system for ventilation which adapts to different stocks, and the paper separation system reduces the risk of jams substantially.

Various controllers are available for the imagePRESS C700 and imagePRESS C800: the internal Canon imagePRESS B1, the PRISMAsync platform and EFI's imagePRESS Server F200 and imagePRESS Server G100.
