The Blue Angel eco-label (or Blaue Engel)

Introduced in 1978 at the initiative of the German Government, the label Blue Angel is the oldest eco-label in the world which has fought since its inception for sustainable development.
"Today, approximately 10,000 products and services in 80 categories of products bear the Blue Angel eco-label"

For each product, the award criteria assess:
• Manufacturing and recycling
• Hazardous materials
• Packaging
• Use
• Issue
• Recovery and disposal
• The declarations of the product

Regarding the Office Equipment sector and beyond the criteria of product manufacturing, the objective of this label is to promote equipment which:
• reduce the impact of pollutants on the quality of indoor air
• offer low power consumption in idle mode,
• record a barely audible noise level,
• propose the use of recycled paper, and offer a duplex unit.

Most manufacturers of MFPs and printers have been warded this eco-label but not on all products distributed.

• The C220, C280, C360 and C452, C552, C652 series of Konica Minolta
