Kodak puts its inkjet business up for sale

Kodak's inkjet-printing business is known as Prosper, and Kodak have put it up for sale.
 
This information has surprised many given the prosperity of this sector, recognized as the most promising of the manufacturer, and just after Kodak announced their new UltraStream technology inkjet technology, which will be presented at Dupra in Düsseldorf, Germany (May 31 to June 10).
 
This strategic decision was made "after a thorough review of the management of business operations and after discussions with customers, partners and other industry players," said a statement by the manufacturer.
 
Although all major manufacturers are already selling competing systems, Kodak is already in talks with several potential buyers.  "To achieve its full economic potential, Prosper will be best leveraged by a company with a larger sales and distribution footprint in digital printing markets," said Jeff Clarke, CEO of Kodak.
 
The manufacturer nevertheless plans to continue to invest until the finalization of the sale. Stay tuned!
