Umango integrates its IDP functionalities into Epson devices: a step towards embedded intelligent capture
Umango, a recognised player in the field of intelligent document capture (IDP), has announced the native integration of its solution within Epson multifunction printers (MFDs) and professional scanners. This strategic partnership with Epson Europe aims to bring the power of document automation closer to the point of origin.
The main new feature is the direct compatibility of the Umango solution with certain Epson models, enabling access to advanced OCR, OMR, handwriting recognition and AI data extraction functions, without the need for an additional software infrastructure. All this is accessible via a web interface integrated into the devices, making deployment and day-to-day use considerably simpler.
From a technical point of view, the browser-based architecture facilitates integration with existing information systems (EDM, ERP, accounting tools, etc.) and enables real-time interaction with the user. The benefits are twofold: improving the scanning experience at source while reducing document processing times.
This development meets growing market demand for lightweight, secure and integrated solutions. It gives businesses greater flexibility to automate their document workflows, while leveraging the hardware investment in Epson devices.
The integration of Umango on Epson equipment is therefore a relevant technological lever for professional environments seeking to optimise their information management.
Umango is available on all markets. On the EMEA market, the solution is distributed by the integrator iTS in France and Europe in various language versions (French, English, Spanish and German).
